Mini holiday splurge

Only 2 weeks till my jollies and I can not wait! Thankfully I have a few Bank Holidays and of course the Royal wedding to break up the time at work. I don't know about you but I'm a tidgy bit looking forward to the Royal wedding, they seem like a lovely couple and it's nice to celebrate (and get a day of work, yay!)

Anyhoo getting back to the subject... my hols... and my holiday purchases, so here are a few of the bits I've picked up.

I picked this up at Costco as it was cheaper here for the larger size. I swear by P20 as a sun protectant for all people from fair to dark. It is easy to apply once daily and you still get a lovely tan without the burning. I worked at a sunbed salon in my younger days and would say I abused my skin, I'm not proud of it as I had a scare with a mole on my shoulder and it had to be cut out. Luckily for me it was all fine, but it has highlighted the importance of looking after my skin as I am a little more darker I always took it for granted. I therefore highly recommend this sun protector!

Holiday Jewellery... Picked up in the sales at Topshop

I <3 these sandals £29.99 from River Island... I'm calling them 'Sailor Chic'

Quite a haulage from River Island, H&M and New look...

Playsuit River Island
And my favourite bargain was bagged at H&M for £7.99, I plan on wearing this in the day down to the beach and sipping copious amounts of cocktails!

Bruno's bed got in the shot too!

I have ordered lots more online and I wait for the post man every day in work, he thinks that I'm stalking him! The dreaded bikini shop is scheduled for this weekend... to be continued...

J'Adore Dior Addict Lipstick!!!

OMG its official I am officially in love with my new Dior Brillance Spectaculaire Couleur Vibrante, and for all non-speaking French... Vibrant Colour... Spectacular Shine!!

The shade is 762, which is a bright corally pink and like the packaging states, boy does it shine! I picked it up at the weekend while I was in Manchester for a Scouting For Girls concert (they were excellent!) and since then I have literally worn it every day. One application and its a lovely dewy shine, 2-3 more then your smackers are popping colour.

Swatch

What I particularly love is the fact that its like a balm texture and is ultra glossy. It is in fact the first lipstick that doesn't make my lips feel scabby or do that annoying colour collection on the inside and corners of the lips.

I must talk about the packaging too, its amazing! Its got a fair weight to it and is silver and clear, giving it a mirror effect. The lipstick actually pulls out from the case via the ball at the top with the iconic 'CD' on it, I must say I find this aesthetically pleasing to ones eye!

It sets itself apart from any other lipstick I own and maybe that's why I don't feel guilty about parting with £22.00 for it (heck I got Boots points too!) I J'adore it so much I'm planning on buying another shade this weekend :0)

Sinus Solutions: Sterimar Nasal Spray

Hay fever season is well and truly upon us and I have one little recommendation for anybody that suffers with their sinuses like me and it is a 100% natural solution.

I am one of the unlucky ones who suffers all year round as I have dust allergies too, and I have tried anti-histamines, decongestants and very often need anti-biotic's when the little suckers become infected, which I can tell you now is very unpleasant as it can give you flu like symptoms.

You have four pairs of sinuses located in your cheeks, forehead, on both sides of your cheeks behind and between the eyes and at the back of the nasal cavity. They are air filled spaces in the bones of your head and face which are lined with a mucous. Its these 'spaces' that can become blocked and infected when particles like dust get trapped here (gross I know!). I know when my sinuses are causing me issues as my face can feel tender to the touch, I will have a headache, body aches and fever.

As this is becoming a regular issue due to my line of work, I decided to take the plunge and try a nasal spray. I hate the idea of spraying something up my nose but desperate times call for desperate measures! Now there are plenty of nasal decongestants but these are only useful for when you already have issues and can only be used for a few days as they can cause rebound congestion, which pretty much defeats the object.

Rather than wait for the problem arise I have discovered the Sterimar Isotonic Nasal Hygiene spray! It is a pure sea water spray, is drug free and contains no preservatives. If you use it on a regular basis it helps to clear your nasal cavity, therefore preventing build up in the sinuses and also helping with other allergies and colds.

I found it rather disgusting and difficult to use at first as the spray nozzle was tough to press, but with perseverance it's really easy to use and has worked a treat... no congestion or sinusitis for me!

The good news is that because its 100% natural its safe during pregnancy and for babies. I highly recommend giving it a try and see if it could help you.

Join the party!! Zumba for the Wii

Oh I am so excited my lovely little Amazon package arrived at work today!
I had pre-ordered the new Zumba game for the Wii which was launched on the 1st of April, but due to the demand I have waited a week for it... But oh it was so worth the wait. If any of you have tried a Zumba class you will understand how exercise can be (dare I say the words?) FUN!! It's a mixture of salsa, belly dancing, hip hop and a whole host of movements I can not give a title too and the music is really fun too very Cuban-esque!

This game is a really good reflection of the routines you do in the class and it comes with a waistband to put the wii remote in so that it monitors your hip movements. How accurate it is I'm not so sure as I was just shakin' them ol' snake hips all over the living room!

It's great because you can look silly without anyone seeing you but the dog, it adds the competitive edge with gaming and you can set yourself a weekly plan/target. For less than £23 it's also a heck of a lot cheaper than one months membership at a gym too!

Happy Mothers Day!

This is a little post for all the Yummy Mummy's, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!

Whilst my husband and I have no kiddies just yet, I do have my baby Bruno (A rescued Boxer-Cross) He's so adorable and I love him very much. He's so fab in fact that he remembered Mother's day for me and this is what the clever little thing got me (with the help of his pops!)...

I am a total 'Keeping up with the Kardashians' fan, and I've been waiting for this book to be available in the UK as I forgot to buy it when I was in the U.S. Lucky me that it was bought for me, and this book doesn't disappoint. It's glossy with lots of stunning pictures, funny, frank and heart warming. I have a huge girl crush on Kim and I think her make-up always looks immaculate so its great for little tips too.

I hope you all enjoy your Mummy's day and get spoilt and pampered!!

Lots of Love

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream

Elemis has been one of my favourite skin care ranges for a long time and I first discovered it when my husband gave me a Spa day treat which included an Elemis facial. Their products are luxurious, skin nourishing and give you that Spa feeling when you use them, unlike some other ranges which can be more clinical.
The one product which stands out to me as my all time favourite has got to be the award winning Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, which is an Anti-Ageing product that contains marine extract Padina Pavonica which is said to transform the complexion in 2 weeks!

The science from independent clinical trials 2003;
Wrinkle depth reduced by 78%
Hydration increased by up to 45%
Skin firmness and elasticity dramatically increased
Superior free radical protection

Now I am not a scientist so therefore I cannot vouch for these particular claims and being that I'm 27 years old I don't suppose the anti-ageing element would currently be that noticeable, but what I can say is that this cream IS amazing.
I only need the tiniest amount which glides over the skin effortlessly, it soaks in leaving my skin hydrated for the entire day and gives it a cooling sensation with a dewy glow. There is no greasiness to this product and it smells fabulous! My mother-in-law also swears by this cream, with our age gap we both agree that there is no age boundaries to it use, the only boundary is the price...

For a 50ml pot it is an eye-watering £76.60, but in my quick defense I would reiterate that a small amount gos a very long way so this could last up to about 4 months. I would always spend more on my skincare as I believe that you should take care of your skin (being that it is the largest organ!) and in years to come you will be glad that you did.
I understand that not everyone would be able to afford this cost, in fact truth be told neither can I, that's why I treat myself to it  a couple of times a year and rotate using it with less pricey face creams such as No7, Avon and Oilatum.
If you can afford to splash out then try this product, you will not be disappointed but you more that likely will become hooked to it!

Also try the Papaya Enzyme Peel gentle exfoliator, this is my 2nd favourite product... Its divine and a lot more affordable! I'll post more info on this in a few days...

Make-up storage... Spring Clean!

So the clocks have gone forward and spring has sprung but my endless make-up purchases have been mounting up and becoming very disorganised. So, it was time for a little spring clean and a re-think of my storage solutions...

I purchased this little plastic drawer trolley from Argos for £14.99 and thought that the colours were rather funky, bright and cute..

This is what I have stored in the drawers...

Bronzers/Blush

Foundation/Concealer

Eyes
I've stored all my eyelines (liquid/Pencil/Gel) in this perspex drawer stack from Muji

My favourite brushes...

Other daily bits in Muji Perspex holder...

Lips (Marylin Monroe storage case)...

No doubt I'll change this all again soon, but I'm loving the fact that my desk is clear and all items are stored away in their own little place making it look organised and tidy! =)
